Who is Fish, Streyffeler, & Ulmer, Ltd.?
Fish, Streyffeler, & Ulmer, Ltd. was founded by Dennis Fish in 1989. The vision for the company is to provide clients with personal service. When we meet potential clients, we always hear how little to no communication exists themselves and their current accountants. Clients hesitate to call to those accountants, in fear of being charged for asking a simple question.
However, we want our clients to know that we won’t “nickel & dime” them. We always welcome our clients to call us with a question, especially if it will impact their tax situations. Our job is to help our clients become aware of current tax law changes that will affect their progress in becoming successful business entities.
Our staff consists of three licensed accountants and two enrolled agents.
Chris Ulmer is the managing partner of Fish, Streyffeler, & Ulmer, Ltd. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from College of Charleston, and his strengths include business and individual tax analysis, as well as future visualization for up starting small businesses. He is licensed with the SC Board of Accountancy and is an enrolled agent (EA) with the Internal Revenue Service. Chris has been with the company since 1996 and became a partner in 2000. He is a 360-degree analyzer of business and taxation with 20 years of experience in formulating small business strategies. His goal for this company, as well as for his clients, is to find and create solutions to enhance business growth, while maintaining a reputable and friendly workplace.
Bill is a former partner of Fish, Streyffeler, & Ulmer, Ltd. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Park College and has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Webster University. He is licensed with the SC Board of Accountancy. Bill retired from the partnership at the close of 2017, but he still assists clients and performs tax preparation.
Dennis Fish is the founding partner of Fish, Streyffeler, & Ulmer, Ltd. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Metropolitan State College. He is licensed with the SC Board of Accountancy and is an enrolled agent (EA) with the Internal Revenue Service. Dennis specializes in Tax Compliance to assist clients with their IRS and State tax issues. He is currently a county council member of Berkeley County.
John King is our lead staff accountant. He prepares corporate & personal tax returns and oversees many of our clients monthly & quarterly accounting input. He is a tax specialist who represents his clients in matters of the state and federal government. John received his Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Forrest College in Anderson, SC in 1967. He has been with the company since 2002.
Michelle Moody is a head accountant as well as a partner of Fish, Streyffeler, & Ulmer, Ltd. She prepares corporate & personal tax returns. She also creates financial statements, sales tax returns, & quarterly payrolls for many of the company’s accounting clients. As a tax specialist, she provides consultations along with IRS and state representation to her clients. Michelle is also a South Carolina notary public. She received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Charleston Southern University in 2007. She has been with the company since December 2012.
Maddy Campbell is an accounting assistant. She provides payroll processing services, calculates and transmits federal and state payroll tax liabilities, creates quarterly payroll reports, and generates year-end Forms w-2, W-3, 1096, 1098, and 1099. She also processes sales tax returns, performs bank reconciliations, and inputs accounting data. She is responsible for correspondence with federal and state agencies as a representative for our payroll clients. Maddy graduated from Summerville High School in May of 2013. She has been with the company since August of 2014.
Amy Flayer is one of our staff accountants and tax preparers. She prepares corporate and personal tax returns. She inputs accounting data for corporate clients that require financial statement preparation. Additionally, she provides client consultations to both corporate and individual clients. In December of 2007, Amy received a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Binghamton University. She went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Central Methodist University in May of 2015. Amy has been with the company since January of 2017.
Holly Parker is an accounting and administrative assistant. She processes client payrolls, calculates and transmits client payroll tax liabilities, and prepares quarterly payroll reports. She creates and distributes year-end Forms W-2, W-3, 1096, 1098, and 1099. She coordinates client engagement letters and is responsible for office billing. She inputs accounting data, creates tax return extensions, and heads our social media marketing. In May of 2016, she graduated from College of Charleston as a Business Administration major and Spanish minor. Holly has been with the company since November 2016.
